Vanity Fair to close last area plants, cut 270 jobs Monroeville distribution center will continue to grow (Mobile Press-Register) Fruit of the Loom Inc. will close its Vanity Fair Brands dye plant in Monroeville and its Knitting plant in Jackson by the end of 2009, eliminating 180 jobs in Monroeville and 90 in Jackson, according to the company.
